About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Peter’s International School, located in Palmela near Lisbon, serves around 1,500 students aged 4 months to 18 years within a cutting-edge 37,000 m² campus. The school offers a bilingual curriculum (Portuguese/English), Cambridge programs, and the International Baccalaureate, with boarding facilities available for older students. We are looking for a passionate and qualified Cambridge IGCSE Humanities Teacher to implement the Cambridge IGCSE Humanities curriculum starting in August for the upcoming academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is dedicated to inspiring students, promoting critical thinking, and nurturing a love for Humanities subjects. Experience with the International Baccalaureate (MYP or DP) is also highly regarded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Design and deliver engaging, differentiated Humanities lessons for a varied student population.


Utilize innovative teaching methods, including inquiry-based learning and digital tools.


Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.


Engage in curriculum development and integrate technology to enhance educational experiences.


Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom environment and support student well-being.


Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events and extracurricular activities.


Commit to continuous professional growth and comply with safeguarding policies.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A degree in Humanities, Education, or a related field (teaching qualification preferred).


Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Humanities subjects (e.g., Geography, History, Global Perspectives) or similar international curricula.


Relevant experience with IB MYP or DP Humanities (highly valued).


A passion for motivating students and supporting both academic and personal growth.


Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.


Experience in an international or multicultural environment (preferred).


Fluency in English and a commitment to promoting student well-being.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
