Business Management Lecturer

Position Overview

We are seeking an individual to instruct Business Management within our International Year Two (IYTwo) in Business program.

The NCUK IYOne in Business is an equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree, designed to equip students for advancement to second-year undergraduate studies (FHEQ Level 5) in business or related fields at NCUK partner institutions. The role also includes serving as a tutor or co-tutor for a designated group of students, along with any additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of Academics or Principal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attendance records for the assigned tutor group.
• Develop lesson plans and a comprehensive scheme of work/program of study for the classes taught.
• Create a course handbook for the subject area that includes:
• An introduction to the subject matter
• Course expectations
• Aims and objectives for the subject area
• Lesson structure
• Syllabus outline
• Brief summaries for each unit of the syllabus
• Reading lists/material
• Administer continuous assessment tests as scheduled, ensuring that grades are finalized by the required deadlines for report submissions.
• Experience in academic assessment, standards, and quality assurance procedures is desirable.
• Direct experience in higher or further education within an international setting is also preferred.
• A solid understanding of private sector education is considered advantageous.
• Assist in invigilating students during internal and entrance examinations, which may occasionally occur on Saturdays.
• Provide pastoral care to a group of students.
• Engage in any cross-college Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as necessary.
• Enhance the use of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and track student attendance and progress as instructed.
• Uphold the standards expected by awarding bodies, industry, and students.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty to identify and support students at risk of not completing their program.
• Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as required.
• Perform other duties that are appropriate to the role and grade as needed.

Position Requirements

Education: A Master's degree in Business or equivalent level professional qualifications in a relevant field is essential.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, ideally related to delivering a Western-style curriculum using Western methodologies. Significant teaching or qualification management experience at a recognized university may also be considered acceptable.
