About This Role

* Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
* Deliver the established curriculum with accurate and current knowledge of subject matter.
* Design and implement engaging lessons that inspire students, utilizing suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate diverse learning styles.
* Provide written documentation of planning and preparation upon request. Maintain organized records of curriculum outlines, year plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment strategies, and more.
* Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
* Instruct students according to their individual needs, employing appropriate teaching methods that cater to varying abilities, including late-entering students, ESL learners, those with lower academic skills, and gifted individuals.
* Assign and evaluate coursework, and assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievements, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to each student.
* Demonstrate proficiency in incorporating media and technology in the classroom.
* Support the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues.
* Communicate with external parties when necessary (e.g., Ministry of Education representatives).
* Engage in appraisal, Performance Management processes, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and development of teaching materials, resources, study courses, and pastoral care arrangements.
* Actively participate in, and lead when appropriate, the school's co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives. Foster positive working relationships through effective leadership and sharing of ideas, materials, and experiences.
* Supervise and monitor student behavior to ensure safety and appropriateness. Develop and implement strategies to encourage self-discipline and address disruptive behavior.
* Exemplify and promote cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
* Assist in the planning and coordination of school events and activities (e.g., inter-house competitions, concerts, plays, prize days, etc.).
* Regularly communicate with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values, and keep them informed of their children's progress while maintaining confidentiality regarding student information.
* Show initiative and dedication beyond the standard work hours when additional commitment is required for tasks.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
