Raffles American School (RAS) is on the lookout for a passionate and innovative Preschool (K1) Homeroom Teacher to join our Middle & High School team for the academic year 2026.

Position Overview

Raffles American School Bangkok aims to hire a nurturing, creative, and student-focused Early Years Teacher to become a part of our international school community. The ideal candidate will craft engaging and developmentally suited lessons that encourage curiosity, independence, and essential skills in our youngest students. At RAS, Early Years Teachers are crucial in establishing a safe, inclusive, and stimulating atmosphere where children can explore, grow, and succeed.

Job Summary

Early Years Teachers at RAS are expected to:


Inspire and motivate young learners through play-based and inquiry-led activities.


Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.


Champion inclusion, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported in their educational journey.


Collaborate respectfully within the school community and contribute to ongoing enhancements.


Engage in continuous professional development, adopting innovative learning and best practices.


Lead the development of a curriculum that reflects the needs and interests of Early Years students.


Teachers are expected to work from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on regular school days, with a typical schedule including around 22 teaching hours, 5 break hours, 5 planning hours, 3 meeting/training hours, and 5 duty hours each week.

Specific Responsibilities


Establish a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment for young learners.


Design and implement age-appropriate lessons that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.


Evaluate and document student progress through observation and portfolio assessments.


Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues about student development and wellbeing.


Exemplify professional conduct and encourage positive behavior in students.


Participate in ongoing professional development and work collaboratively with peers.


Encourage parental involvement in their children's early education.

Required Skills & Experience


Fluent spoken and written English to facilitate effective communication.


Teaching license eligible for full-time roles at a US public school for Early Years/Kindergarten level, or an equivalent credential.


Previous experience teaching Early Years or Kindergarten is preferred.


Dedication to professional standards and a compassionate teaching approach.

We offer competitive salaries for fully qualified and licensed teachers in full-time positions. There is no additional housing stipend provided. Candidates will have their flight to Thailand reimbursed and will receive round-trip airfare to their home country at the conclusion of their contract (for overseas applicants only). RAS will reimburse visa and work-permit costs. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are also included.
