At Collegio San Carlo, we hold both Tradition and Innovation in high regard, with our Intercultural Bilingual Programme integrated throughout the school. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is one of five educational pathways available at the high school level, aimed at equipping our students for global studies.
We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and qualified educator to join our International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme team. The chosen candidate will primarily instruct Mathematics Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, along with IB Diploma Computer Science at both levels.
· Design, prepare, and deliver compelling and challenging lessons in IB Mathematics AA HL and Computer Science, ensuring adherence to IB standards, assessment criteria, and syllabus requirements while addressing the educational needs of individual students.
· Actively promote and exemplify the IB Learner Profile and ATLs (approaches to learning).
· Evaluate student work through diverse strategies, provide constructive feedback, and prepare students for both internal and external IB assessments.
· Assist students by participating in the Advisory programme, offering personalized academic support, and encouraging independent learning during tutorial supervision.
· Conduct workshops aimed at skill development to ensure students possess the technical abilities and knowledge necessary for the IB Diploma Programme and beyond.
· Supervise Extended Essays in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related disciplines, guiding students through their research, methodology, and writing processes.
· Engage in parent-teacher conferences, progress reporting, and collaborative planning with fellow educators.
· Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum enhancement, and extracurricular initiatives as required.
· Execute administrative and organizational duties associated with the programme, such as reporting and unit planning.
Qualifications and Requirements
· A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Education, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
· IB teaching certification or a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, or Italian equivalents).
· Demonstrated experience in teaching IB Mathematics AA HL and IB Computer Science (a minimum of 3 years is preferred).
· Comprehensive understanding of IB Diploma Programme philosophy, assessment practices, and learner profile.
· Native English speaker or C2 level proficiency in English.
· Preference for candidates eligible to work in Italy/EU (e.g., EU citizenship, valid visa, or permesso di soggiorno).
