Purpose & Pedagogy

SNA Marianapolis International School is on the lookout for creative and collaborative educational leaders to become part of its K-12 faculty starting in Fall 2026. Each educator at SNA Marianapolis is tasked with designing and implementing a cohesive experiential learning curriculum, adjusting teaching methods to cater to the individual needs of each student. Beyond traditional teaching, our faculty also participate in extracurricular activities with students, such as coaching sports or leading co-curricular trips that provide hands-on learning experiences. Ultimately, our educators are committed to being fully involved in the vibrant life of the school.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Oversees student behavior in the classroom, around school grounds, and during educational outings.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develops and plans an engaging curriculum tailored to age-appropriate standards, following educational best practices and state and school district guidelines.
• Creates and delivers individual lesson plans across one or more academic subjects using diverse teaching strategies that resonate with various learning styles.
• Prepares instructional materials for lessons, assignments, and assessments; evaluates, corrects, and grades student work.
• Addresses academic challenges or behavioral issues with students as they arise.
• Tracks students’ progress throughout the year and assesses their readiness for middle school.
• Communicates student progress and concerns with parents and, when necessary, other faculty, staff, and/or the principal with professionalism and sensitivity.
• Fosters and maintains positive relationships with parents.
• Upkeeps safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.
• Maintains necessary documentation for student files, attendance, incident reports, and other essential records.
• Monitors hallways, study periods, and lunchrooms alongside other faculty and staff.
• Engages in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional development opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.
• Stays informed about research, trends, and best practices in elementary education.
• Takes on additional responsibilities, such as sponsoring student activities or organizations.
• Completes other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Comprehensive understanding of pedagogy and educational best practices.
• A strong desire to teach elementary-aged children and the ability to adapt to their developmental needs.
• Capacity to design engaging lessons that effectively teach the curriculum, utilizing various instructional methods such as lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and both individual and group projects.
• Strong supervisory and leadership abilities to effectively manage classroom dynamics.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities with a proven capacity to maintain professionalism and tact in high-pressure situations.
• Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
• Creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• A valid teaching license/certificate is required.
• Prior experience teaching elementary-aged children is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
• Ability to navigate the campus by walking and using stairs multiple times a day, as well as adjusting one’s posture by bending, leaning, or sitting on the floor to effectively teach each child.

Compensation
