1:1 Teaching Assistant- Early Years

We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Reception team, initially. This rewarding role involves providing individual support for a child with special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential within our nurturing and inclusive school community but may also involve working with small groups.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to a child's educational journey at the very start of their school life.

This is a fixed term position linked to EHCP funding for the duration of the child's attendance at our school.

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience of working with children in an Early Years or primary setting.
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Be patient, caring and resilient, with excellent communication skills.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff.
• Be creative and flexible.
• Have experience of supporting children with communication needs.
• Support the child's learning, social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
